2,500 graduates, 19 get PhD degrees at Teerthanker Mahaveer University convocation

Teerthanker Mahaveer University Convocation: 51 gold medallists, 50 silver medallists, and 51 bronze medallists were acknowledged during the event.

NEW DELHI: The Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad, concluded its convocation ceremony for the 2022–23 academic session. The institute awarded degrees to 2,500 graduates. In recognition of their achievements, the ceremony honoured 51 gold medallists, 50 silver medallists, 51 bronze medallists, and 19 scholars who received Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.

As per the institute, the ceremony observed a two-minute silence to honour the legacy of former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. Uttar Pradesh’s minister of finance and parliamentary affairs, Suresh Kumar Khanna was the chief guest of the convocation ceremony. He distributed medals and degrees to the graduates.

Baldev Singh Aulakh, minister of state for agriculture education and research, Uttar Pradesh, attended the ceremony as the guest of honour. TMU chancellor, Suresh Jain; group vice-chairman, Manish Jain; executive director, Akshat Jain; vice-chancellor, VK Jain, and other distinguished dignitaries were also present at the convocation ceremony.

Addressing the convocation ceremony, Khanna emphasised the importance of selfless service. According to the official press release, he urged graduates to draw inspiration from luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, S Radhakrishnan, and APJ Abdul Kalam.

Chancellor Suresh Jain shared his aspirations for TMU to rank among the world’s leading universities. He reiterated the university’s focus on academic and healthcare initiatives and expressed pride in the alumni who serve as global torchbearers of knowledge.

“Akshat Jain congratulated the graduates and highlighted TMU’s commitment to academic excellence and societal impact. He emphasised the transformative power of education and the importance of lifelong learning,” the official press release read.
