The All India Students Association has written a letter petition to the Chief Justice S. A. Bobde against CBSE compartment exam conduction in this pandemic.
A total of 808 have signed the letter petition which states that around 1,50,198 students from Class 10 and around 87,651 students from class 12, got compartment in the result. The decision to conduct the compartment exam in this situation is in sheer violation of the Right to Health, the petitioners have mentioned in the letter.
As per India legal Live, the petitioners have pointed out “that in view of unprecedented health emergency and rising numbers of the COVID 19 cases in the country, the conduct of compartment examination will expose the examinees to a great risk and will undeniably sacrifice basic principle of integrity by neglecting equal basis and treatment to all examinees.”
Moreover, no schedule for the CBSE compartment exams has been released yet and many colleges have already announced the admission closure dates, it is adversely affecting the students who are left with their exams when there is no certainty regarding completion of their examination.
The petitioners have requested the SC to keep the decision of CBSE to conduct compartment exams in abeyance until the pandemic situation normalises.
