AIBE 20 registration begins tomorrow for law graduates, final-year LLB students; exam on November 30

Download NowThe Bar Council of India (BCI) will commence registrations for the All India Bar Examination 20 (AIBE 20) tomorrow, August 29 from 10 am. Law graduates and students in their final semesters of legal courses will be able to register for the AIBE 20 through the official website at allindiabarexamination.com. The council will close the AIBE 20 registrations on October 28 . Candidates will be able to register for the eligibility test with late fee by October 29, 2025.
The correction window to make changes in the AIBE 20 application form will be activated on October 31 and the admit cards will be issued on November 15, 2025.
The BCI will conduct the AIBE 20 eligibility test on November 30. As per the qualifying criteria, candidates belonging to general and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories will have to obtain at least 45%.
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates should have to score 40% to qualify the AIBE 20.
Eligibility for AIBE 20
The AIBE is conducted by the BCI to assess law graduates or final year students on their basic legal knowledge and professional competence before practicing law in India.
Those who will qualify the AIBE 20 will receive a Certificate of Practice (CoP), which will allow them to practice law in India.
“Final year, final semester candidates without backlogs in previous semesters, and candidates who have passed 3-year or 5-year LLB but have not obtained their degree, or those who have passed out, obtained their degrees but have not enrolled with any state bar council, or having enrolled have surrendered their enrolment certificate are eligible to apply for the AIBE 20,” according to the official notification.
Notably, any graduate or student, studying or has completed their courses from a university or college not approved by the Bar Council of India will not be eligible to apply for AIBE 20.

AIBE 20 Registrations: Documents required
Candidates must note the list of documents required to submit the AIBE 20 registration form for acquiring the Certificate of Practice (CoP).
- Final-year law students must submit self-attested and scanned (not clicked from mobile) marksheets for each semester.
- Marksheets of 3-year LLB's semester 1 to 5.
- Scorecards of 5-year LLB's semester 1 to 9.
- Law graduates who have passed their LL.B course but have not yet obtained their degree must submit their self-attested and scanned (not clicked from mobile) marksheets.
- For the 3-year LL.B degree course: marksheets of Semester 1 to Semester 6.
- For the 5-year integrated LL.B degree course: marksheets of Semester 1 to Semester 10.
- All candidates must ensure their institution is BCI-recognised or approved.
