AILET 2024: NLU begins registration for joint masters, LLM in Intellectual Property Law; eligibility

NEW DELHI: National Law University (NLU) Delhi has begun the application process for AILET 2024 for admission to the Joint Masters, LLM program in Intellectual Property Law and Management. The registration commenced on March 21 and the last date to fill the application form is June 3, 2024. Candidates can fill the AILET 2024 Joint Masters application form by visiting the official website, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.

There are a total of 25 seats each for Indian nationals in LLM and MA. The official website read, "The programme is being jointly offered by National Law University Delhi (NLUD), World Intellectual Property Organization

(WIPO) and Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM – Indian IP Office). The degree granting authority for this programme is National Law University Delhi. However, the degree certificate shall bear the logos of all the partnering institutions."

NLU Joint Masters, LLM Admission 2024: Eligibility

Candidates can have a look at the eligibility criteria below.

MA in Intellectual Property Law and Management

Candidates are required to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Completed two consecutive bachelor's degrees, with one being in the relevant field.

  • Graduated from an integrated five-year degree program in the relevant field after completing Class 12.

  • Obtained an equivalent postgraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

  • Completed a four-year bachelor’s program with Honours/Research from a recognized university.

In each of the aforementioned scenarios, candidates must have achieved a minimum aggregate of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories like SC, ST, Persons with Disability).

Candidate must hold a LLB or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% for reserved categories such as SC, ST, Persons with Disability)

NLU Joint Masters, LLM Admission 2024: Selection process

Interested students must meet qualifying criteria and take the All-India Entrance Examination, which consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The written exam will have 70% weightage. The remaining 30% weightage will be distributed equally across the interview and written personal statements submitted during the application process. Interviews will be held for two times the number of available seats, depending on written entrance exam results.
