AISSEE 2024 registration begins for Class 6, 9 Sainik School admission; exam on January 21

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE 2024) registration for admission to Class 6 and 9 in 33 Sainik Schools for the academic year 2024-25. The AISSEE 2024 exam will be conducted on January 21.
The AISSEE 2024 registration last date is December 16. To complete the application process at aissee.ntaonline.in, students who belong to the general category will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 650 and SC, ST students will have to pay Rs 500.
The Sainik Schools entrance exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode in 186 cities across India. The question paper will be consist of multiple-choice format.
AISSEE 2024 eligibility criteria
Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria for Class 6 and 9 will be able to appear in the exam.
For Class 6, students should be between 10 and 12 years as on March 31, 2024. Admission for girls is open for Class 6, subject to availability of vacancies. Age criteria is the same for both boys and girls.
For Class 9, students should be between 13 and 15 years as on March 31, 2024 and should have passed Class 8, from a recognised school. Admission to girls will be based on the availability of vacancies.
Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE). “They prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy and other Training Academies, for Officers. The ministry of defence has approved 19 new Sainik Schools, which operate in partnership with NGOs, private schools, state governments,” the NTA said.
