NEW DELHI: Anant National University announced that the second round of the Anant Design Entrance and Proficiency Test (ADEPT) will be conducted in five languages – English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, and Tamil. The university will conduct the online entrance test for its Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme on April 7. Students can register for ADEPT on the official website, anu.edu.in.

The university said by expanding assessment options, Anant aims at fostering inclusivity and democratises access to design education, opening doors to a broader range of talent. This is the first instance in the country where a design institution evaluates creativity and innovation aptitude in languages beyond the traditionally chosen English.

The ADEPT is a one-hour long exam that evaluates the candidate’s design aptitude, creativity, problem solving, logical skills and general awareness. Candidates applying for the ADEPT 2024 should have minimum 50% marks in Class 12 or its equivalent examination from any stream from a recognised school board.

Anant National University president Ajay Piramal said, “Design goes beyond language, and this opportunity for students to attempt ADEPT in any of the five languages is a true reflection of this philosophy. Each student has the chance to showcase their talent and potential in a language they are most comfortable with.”

The university offers a diverse array of programmes from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The institute also has academic partnerships with institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, University of Miami, Pratt and others. The university fosters holistic learning, empowering students to excel in their fields and become solutionaries—revolutionary thinkers ready to tackle global challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, it added.
