Anna University budgets Rs 1.86 crore for online exams

NEW DELHI: Anna University, Chennai has decided to conduct proctored online examination for the final-semester undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university departments and affiliated colleges by the end of August.

To conduct the tests on its behalf, Anna University has published a tender inviting bids and estimated the exams to cost Rs. 1,86,00,000 for 15 days’ work. The university has adopted the two-bid system in which the technical and financial proposals will be submitted separately, for the following services for the Controller of Examinations, Anna University.

The Times of India reported that a one-hour proctored online examination will be held for each subject where the students will be monitored by artificial intelligence. To avoid malpractice audio and physical movements of the students will be recorded along with computer screen usage.

Tamil Nadu had cancelled all exams till the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued guidelines on July 6 making it compulsory for universities to conduct exams for final-semester or final-year students.
