NEW DELHI: The Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP EdCET) counselling 2023 for admissions to Bachelor of Education (BEd) courses has started today, January 31. Candidates who qualified in the EdSET exam can apply for counselling through the official website at edcet-sche.aptonline.in.
The last date to participate in the counselling process of BEd, BEd special education programmes is February 6.
To register for the counselling process, Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,200. Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Person with Disability (PwD) categories will have to pay Rs 700 only.
Candidates who have completed the registration process will have their certificate verification from February 2 to 7. However, for special category candidates, certificate verification will be conducted physically on February 5 at HLC, Andhra Loyola College, Veterinary Colony, Vijayawada.
There are around 34,000 seats available at 411 BEd institutions across the state. Candidates who have been allocated seats must report to their respective colleges by February 19. The classes will commence on the same day.

The eligibility criteria for the counselling round are as follows

Domicile | The candidate must be an Indian. Should satisfy the local, non-local status as per Andhra Pradesh educational institute. |
Educational Qualification | Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks either in the bachelor’s degree i.e., BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBM or in the postgraduate degree in the relevant subject. Candidates who passed BE, BTech with a minimum of 55% marks in mathematics, physics are eligible for admission into the course. |
Age Limit | candidates should have completed the age of 19 years on July 1 of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit. |
Reservation | Reserved categories i.e. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, OBC-C, OBC-D, OBC-E candidates are also eligible. Physically handicapped candidates must have at least 40% marks in the last qualifying exam. |
