APSC Prelims exam to be held on Dec 30; admit card to be released on Dec 15

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 29: Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has announced the exam date of APSC preliminary exam. As per official notification, the preliminary exam will be conducted on December 30, 2018. The exam will be held offline across 31 districts of Assam. The commission will issue fresh admit cards to candidates from December 15. The admit card will be available online at http://apsc.nic.in/.

Candidates will have to download their admit card by entering roll number and date of birth. The admit card will carry information related to the exam date, time and exam centre. Candidates must bring the printed copy of the admit card along with one photo-identity proof to the examination centre.

Earlier, the examination was scheduled to be conducted on December 24, 2018, but due to some administrative reasons, the commission had to postponed the exam.

According to the exam pattern, the preliminary examination will consist of two objective type papers. Each paper will be held for two hours. The test carries total 400 marks. Based on the result of preliminary examination, candidates, 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the mains exam.

APSC is conducting the Combined Competitive Examination for the recruitment of candidates to Assam Civil Service, Assam Land & Revenue Service, Assam Police Service etc. As many as 165 vacancies will be filled through this exam. The examination is being conducted after a gap of one year, after December 2016.
