Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Assam government will take a decision on the new exam schedule for Assam Class 10 and 12 board exams 2021. According to the Times of India report, Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu said that a decision on the new schedule of Assam board exam 2021 will be taken by May 25, 2021. On May 4, the Assam board decided to postpone the SEBA HSLC and AHSEC HS exams until further notice.
“If the state health authorities allow holding exams with guidelines, we will be able to conduct the exam at a 15 days’ notice from the health department. We urge the parents and students for their cooperation and to prepare them for the examination as if the situation improves, the exam will be held,” the education minister said, as per the Times of India report.
“The candidates usually need to appear in six papers in the examinations. As the COVID situation will not improve completely, the proposal where candidates will only need to appear in the exam for three subjects is being considered to reduce the period of the exam schedule. If it is done, then the entire exam can be completed within 10-12 days,” he added.
As per the report, the education minister has also visited the Assam textbook production and publication corporation and said the department is ready to conduct the Assam board exam 2021 at a 15 days’ notice from the health department of state. Also, the distribution of books for Class 12 will be started in ten days.
Earlier, the Assam board Class 10 and 12 exams were scheduled to be held from May 11, 2021. The board has also cancelled the Assam higher secondary (HS) first-year exam 2021 due to the increase in the COVID-19 cases in the state.
