Assam government will distribute scooters to girl and boy students with 60% and 75% marks in Class 12, respectively.
NEW DELHI: The Assam government has announced that it will distribute scooters to students – girls who have secured 60% and boys with 75% marks – in Higher Secondary (Class 12) exams.
The state government said that it will also cover the cost of insurance and registration of the vehicle. Asam education minister Ranoj Pegu has advised students and their guardians to be aware of fraudulent calls asking for money for registration and insurance through UPI.
“I urge recipients not to pay and report these calls to nodal Principals, as these costs are already handled by the government,” the state education minister said. The overall pass percentage of girl students in Assam Class 12 board exams 2023 was 72.92% while 66.94% boys had passed in the previous academic year. A total of 46,383 students had appeared for the exam in 2023 of which 39,405 students passed the exams.
