Students of Atal Residential Schools visit ISRO on educational tour

Students were selected for the visit through a school-level competition. Scientists conducted workshop on space science.
NEW DELHI : In order to enhance the technical, skill and all-round development of the students of Atal Residential Schools, students were taken on an educational tour to Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The scientists organized a knowledge-enhancing workshop related to space science and ISRO for students.
Advanced activities like space science, machine creation and drone technology were conducted in 18 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas operating in Uttar Pradesh through the 'Utkrisht Atal' programme. In the 15-day special programme, students learned about the mysteries of space as well as India's space achievements from subject experts. The students also displayed their creativity by making models of automatic light, smart blind stick, smart dustbin and full rover drone.
ISRO visit
One student from each school who won the 'Space Art and Best Product Development Competition' held in schools was given the title of "Vigyan Ratna" and all the winning students were taken on a tour.
During the tour, ISRO director Nilesh Desai gave information to the students about the mysteries of space as well as India's space achievements. During the session, students were asked about the major difference between Chandrayaan 2 and Chandrayaan 3 and the significance of July 20, 1969.
Desai also introduced the students to the basic principles of space exploration. The history of astronomy and modern space missions were discussed. The workshop encouraged creativity and scientific attitude among the students. This event of ISRO not only increased the interest of the students towards space science but also gave them an opportunity to feel proud of India's space achievements.
