BHU to hold free yoga workshops leading up to International Yoga Day
BHU launches free yoga workshop to prepare students to live a stress-free lifestyle, celebrate International Yoga Day
NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will hold a series of workshops to promote yoga. The “Yoga For All" workshops will be focussed on those who find it difficult to practise yoga due to lack of knowledge. The inaugural workshop will be held on June 7. The workshop will feature practice sessions on yoga asanas to be performed during the upcoming 9th International Yoga Day celebration on June 21, 2023.
The yoga sadhana kendra at Malaviya Bhavan has offered various yoga courses attended by students, working professionals, and other people.
"Malaviya Bhavan has introduced an orientation course, which will mentally and physically prepare participants for joining comprehensive yoga programs The workshops will help overcome mental stress with yoga asanas by providing training for both the body and mind. Orientation workshops are open to everyone and it is free of cost," BHU said in an official notification.
In the month of May, Malviya Bhavan conducted a 15-day Surya Namaskar workshop from May 9 to May 23. 125 students and 15 experts participated in the workshop.
"Yoga promotes a healthy mind and body, which ultimately contributes to a healthy society and nation. The free programs aim to boost participants' confidence and comfort in yoga classes," said Ram Shukla, director, Malaviya Bhawan.
