BHU Admissions 2026: Application closes today for PG environmental sciences, microbiology courses

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will close the application window for several postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session today, June 4, 2026. Candidates seeking admission through Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2026 are advised to complete their registration before the deadline.

Among the programmes currently open for admission are M.Sc Environmental Sciences, M.Sc Environmental Sciences (Environmental Technology), and M.Sc Applied Microbiology. The university has also invited applications for numerous other postgraduate courses offered by its various faculties, institutes, and departments.

Applicants can apply on the official admission portals of BHU at admission.bhu.ac.in and CUET PG samarth portal at bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in.

BHU Admission 2026: M.Sc Environmental Sciences programmes

The Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD) is offering M.Sc Environmental Sciences programmes in specialisations such as Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Ecological Sciences, and Environmental Biotechnology. These two-year courses focus on sustainability, climate change, environmental management, ecological research, and emerging technologies. Students will have access to advanced laboratory infrastructure and research facilities supporting studies in pollution monitoring, ecotoxicology, urban climate, agroecosystems, and environmental remediation.

BHU is also accepting applications for M.Sc Environmental Sciences (Environmental Technology) at its Rajiv Gandhi South Campus (RGSC), Mirzapur. The programme combines classroom teaching, laboratory training, fieldwork, and research activities, with emphasis on environmental technology, pollution control, water and wastewater management, environmental impact assessment, and sustainable development practices.

BHU Admission 2026: M.Sc Applied Microbiology

The Department of Botany, Institute of Science, has opened admissions to its M.Sc Applied Microbiology programme. The two-year course, which has an intake of 40 seats, is designed to provide advanced training in microbiology through practical laboratory work, research-based learning, and industry-oriented coursework.

Graduates of the programme can pursue careers in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, food processing, environmental science, and research organisations. The curriculum aims to equip students with technical expertise and practical skills through modern facilities and academic mentorship.

Apart from these programmes, BHU is offering admission to a wide range of postgraduate courses across science, humanities, social sciences, performing arts, commerce, and other disciplines through the CUET PG admission process.
