Bihar Police Vacancy 2019; Recruitment starting from August 22

NEW DELHI AUGUST 21 : The Bihar Police Sub-Ordinate Services Commission has announced Bihar Police recruitment for 2446 vacancies which include Police Sub Inspector (2064 posts), Sergeant (215 posts), Assistant Superintendent Jail [Direct Recruitment] (125 posts) and Assistant Superintendent Jail [Ex-Serviceman] (42 posts). The vacancies have been notified through the official website of BPSSC on August 21 2019.
The application will start from August 22, 2019, and end on September 25 2019.
The application process for this examination is online. Candidates can fill only one application form although they will get a chance to write the preference of the posts.
Bihar Police Eligibility :
1. Graduation from any recognised university
2. The age group for General candidates (Male): 20 years to 37 years candidates
3. The age group for OBC and EBC candidates (Male): 20 years to 40 years
4. The age group for General, OBC and EBC candidates (Female): 20 years to 40 years
5. The age group for SC/ST candidates (Male and Female): 20 years to 42 years
Exam Pattern:
The selection for the post of Police Sub Inspector (PSI) will be conducted in two stages; Preliminary and Mains. The question paper will be objective type and in written mode. The preliminary examination will consist of 100 questions of 200 marks with a time duration of 2 hours. Candidates scoring below 30 marks will be deemed unqualified for mains. BPSSC will qualify candidates, 20x the number of vacancies.
The Mains will consist of 2 papers; Paper 1 will have 100 questions carrying 200 marks to be completed within 2 hours. The questions will be based on General Hindi and candidates scoring below 30 will be unqualified.
The Mains Paper 2 will be based on General Studies, General Science, Indian History, Indian Geography, Maths, Civics and questions testing the intellectual prowess of the candidates. There will be 100 questions of 200 marks and the time duration will be 2 hours. 0.20 marks will be deducted as negative marking in both the papers.
