Bihar schools closed; new Covid restrictions imposed: Report
Bihar Covid Cases: Physical classes will continue for classes 9 to 12 with half the capacity

NEW DELHI: Educational institutions in Bihar including schools, colleges, coaching centres, and hostels will remain closed till January 21, the Bihar government announced on Thursday owing to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state, reported the Economic Times .
“The pre-school and 1 to 8 classes in Bihar will remain closed, with no physical classes . Students of these classes will continue academic activities through online classes. But physical classes will continue for classes 9 to 12 with a 50 per cent capacity, strictly following Covid protocols. Other government and private organisations in Bihar are permitted to function with half of its staff capacity,” said an order from the Bihar government, the ET has reported.

Previously, the Bihar government had imposed certain restrictions such as a night curfew throughout the state from 10 pm to 5 am from January 6 to 21.
“Bihar Covid cases are on the rise. Considering the high infection rate in the state, a review has been conducted by the Bihar government, and certain restrictions have been imposed. Special care and caution are required to tackle this Covid situation in Bihar. Citizens are advised to wear masks and to practice social distancing,” said Nitish Kumar, chief minister of Bihar.
