BML Munjal University hosts Women in Leadership conference, graduation ceremony

BMU collaborated with FICCI Women in Science and Entrepreneurship, G20 Empower Jan Bhagidari to hold panel discussions, graduation ceremony.
NEW DELHI: BML Munjal University hosted a conference titled ‘Women in Leadership’ (WIL) conference on March 14, 2023 in collaboration with the FICCI Women in Science and Entrepreneurship (WISE) and G-20 Empower Jan Bhagidari. BMU also held a graduation ceremony for WIL members and awarded 17 “bright trailblazers”. The event also featured work of women micro-entrepreneurs.
The day-long conference was aimed at presenting, discussing and exchanging ideas and perspectives on women in leadership, celebrating the achievements of women from diverse backgrounds, unseen challenges faced by women, gendered interventions and checking women’s empowerment at grassroot level, a statement from the university said.

Various speakers such as former sarpanch of Soda, Rajasthan, Chhavi Rajawat; senior advocate at the Supreme Court, Jayna Kothari; and director of FICCI, Anandi Iyer had lined up as panellists, to address the conference.
The conference included four panel discussions. The first panel discussion was titled ‘Women-Shaping the culture and economy of the country’, while the second one was titled ‘Women rising through invisible barriers’, followed by the third one named ‘Women empowerment at grassroot level’ and the fourth one titled ‘Cross-cultural perspectives on women in leadership for invigorating exchange and dialogue’.
BMU chancellor, Sunil Kant Munjal addressed the attendees of the conference. He said, “We need more action and less conversation on ground, and this platform is just the beginning. Women are the much smarter half of the population and are inherent multi-takers, who excel in everything that they do.”
BML Munjal University president, Swati Munjal said, “Women as leaders not only fuel large corporates and big initiatives but they empower fellow women at the foundation level to drive positive changes in communities and society as a whole.”
