Subscribe NowPatna: Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar on Monday announced that appointments through Teacher Recruitment Exam-4 (TRE-4) will be made soon. In TRE-1 and 2, 1.70 lakh and 70,000 teachers were appointed, respectively, while in TRE-3, only a part of the 87,774 vacancies could be filled. Talking to reporters here, Kumar said, "We will soon ensure TRE-4 appointments.
The roster clearance and requisition for TRE-4 will be sent to the BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) by January 15-20." In the run-up to the Bihar assembly polls, the state had witnessed several protests due to non-fulfilment of a section of all posts allocated under TRE-3.
According to a statement issued by the Education Department, requisitions have also been sent to the BPSC for the recruitment of 935 Assistant Education Development Officers and 7,279 teachers of special schools. Meanwhile, engineering job candidates staged a protest outside a building housing several secretariat offices in Patna against the provision of bonus marks to contract-based employees.

The protests coincided with Sunil Kumar's press conference, which was conducted in a nearby building. One of the protestors said, "In the BPSC AE (Assistant Engineer) recruitment exam, eligible contractual workers are given 133 bonus marks in a 400-mark exam paper.
This provision denies freshers their due chance." Protestors urged the government to repeal this 'black law." Notably, contractual workers in Bihar are entitled to bonus marks for their experience in several competitive examinations for government jobs.
