NEW DELHI, MARCH 18 : CLAT 2019 applicants will now be appearing for the Common Law Admission Test on May 26 as the offline examination date has been rescheduled by CLAT Consortium. The CLAT 2019 date has been postponed in view of the examination date coinciding with the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 to be held on May 12, which was earlier the same date for Common Law Admission Test.
In an official meeting held today in the presence of CLAT 2019 Convenor and other CLAT Consortium members including President Dr Faizan Mustafa, the consortium decided to reschedule the CLAT 2019 examination date due to General Elections 2019.
“CLAT 2019 will now be held on May 26 between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm,” confirmed Dr Sri Krishna Deva Rao, CLAT 2019 Convenor, while breaking this information in a first to Careers360.
The CLAT 2019 Convenor also shared that the CLAT Consortium has decided to extend the application process of CLAT 2019 for further two weeks. “In the meeting held today, the CLAT Consortium has taken a decision to extend the CLAT 2019 application deadline till April 15 as we have rescheduled CLAT 2019 on May 26, 2019,” added Dr Rao, the Convenor for CLAT 2019.
Careers360 had earlier written to CLAT 2019 Convenor and CLAT Consortium on this issue and has requested to find an amicable solution on behalf of law aspirants.
Due to Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 12, 2019, the CLAT 2019 applicants might have to face several problems including commute to their CLAT centres, which now has been taken care by CLAT Consortium with the change in examination date of CLAT 2019.
CLAT being held offline this year is expected to attract more applications than preceding years.
