BS Sahay appointed as IIM Jammu Director

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 5: Prof. BS Sahay has been appointed as the Director of Indian Institute of Management, Jammu. The mentee institute of IIM Lucknow, IIM Jammu is the 20^th IIM, established in the year 2016. Prof. Ajit Prasad, IIM Lucknow Director was the first mentor director of IIM Jammu. Prof. Sahay assumed his office on October 4, 2018, in presence of Deepak Kumar Mukadam, Member, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu and Director, Jaybee Steel Treators Ltd., faculty members and Chief Administrative Officer.

Prior to joining IIM Jammu, Prof. Sahay was the Advisor to the Chancellor of NMIMS University, Mumbai. He was also the Founder Director of IIM Raipur. Earlier, Prof. Sahay has served the directorial position in MDI Gurgaon and IMT Ghaziabad. A B.Tech in Industrial Engineering from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, Prof. Sahay has done M.Tech and PhD in Strategic Planning and Policy Modelling from IIT Delhi.

Prof. Sahay has published 135 research papers and 18 books. He was the founding editor of the International Journal of Value Chain Management. Sahay is on the board of the Decision Sciences Institute and the All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, He is on the advisory board of several universities and organisations and a Fellow of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering.

At present, IIM Jammu is functioning from the Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, Old University Campus, Jammu. The permanent campus, which will be located at t Jagti, Nagrota Road, Jammu, is expected to be operational from 2021-22. At present, there are 114 students at IIM Jammu.
