Cambridge Assessment English announces new exam centre in Vel Tech, Chennai

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 9: Cambridge Assessment English, a department of Cambridge University, has launched a new exam centre at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
The Vel Tech Centre for English Proficiency is the latest authorised centre for conducting Cambridge Assessment exams in India. Currently, Cambridge Assessment has 45 centres in 17 states.
Cambridge provides English language exams and tests for more than five million people in 130 countries. Their certificates are widely accepted in colleges and universities around the world as proof of proficiency in the language.
Speaking on the new development, Dr.V.S.S.Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Vel Tech said, “We are excited to be connected with one of the best universities in the world. The international certification will help our students to set a benchmark in language proficiency which is very much essential before the student steps into the professional environment.”
The centre was launched at an event attended by. T K Arunachalam, Regional Director - South Asia, Cambridge Assessment English; Col. Dr. Rangarajan, Founder Chancellor and President, Vel Tech; Dr. Sagunthala Rangarajan, Foundress President, Vel Tech; and Dr.V.S.S.Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Vel Tech.
Speaking at the event, T K Arunachalam said, “We are happy to be associated with Vel Tech and look forward to a very fruitful partnership ahead. We laud their initiative to provide a platform to help students in developing their language and communication skills and gain international certification.”
