NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show cause notice to Class 10, 12 students of Delhi for submitting fake certificates to appear in CBSE board exams 2024. The board has kept the CBSE board results 2024 of 49 Class 10 and 53 Class 12 female and CWSN private category candidates in the result later category (RL). CBSE 10th, 12th results 2024 were declared on May 13.

The board asked such students to submit their responses in the regional office with all supporting documents by May 21. It warned students that their candidature will be cancelled and action will be taken against them upon failure to submit the reply.

“With this notice, these candidates are directed to show cause that why not their candidature be cancelled and action be initiated against them as per rules for submitting fake certificate. All candidates are directed to submit their reply in the concerned Regional Office with all supporting documents within 07 days from the date of the notice i.e. latest by 21.05.2024 failing which their candidature will be cancelled. The Board shall not be liable for any loss / damage caused to such candidates,” read an official notice by board.

CBSE Board Exams: Eligibility

CBSE explained that in order to be eligible for board exams, it is mandatory to submit the domicile certificate showing that the candidate is a resident of Delhi while submitting the exam form.

The board said that the domicile certificates submitted by these candidates were verified to ensure that they are correct. However, the certificate issuing authorities told CBSE that they have not issued the certificates submitted by these students.

“Hence, the results of these candidates were not declared on May 13, 2024 and have been placed under the Result Later (RL) category as per Rule 60 of the CBSE examination bye-laws,” CBSE added.

In another notice, CBSE informed that the 10th, 12th results 2024 of 139 Delhi candidates have been placed in the subjudice category and are subject to the outcome of the court decisions.
