CBSE 2024: No overall division or aggregate marks will be awarded for Class 10, 12 exams

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a notice clarifying the percentage calculation criteria for Class 10 and 12 board examinations. Referring to examination bye-laws, the notice highlights that no overall division or distinction/aggregate will be awarded.

“The CBSE is receiving requests from various persons to intimate the criteria for calculating the percentage of the students in the board's examinations. In this regard, it is informed that the sub-section 40.1 (iii) of Chapter-7 of the examination bye-Laws stipulate that: no overall division/distinction or aggregate will be awarded,” read the official notice.

The notice states if a candidate has taken more than five subjects, the decision to determine the best five subjects lies with the admitting institution or employer. The CBSE does not calculate or declare percentages; institutions or employers handle this for higher education or employment purposes.

The board is expected to issue the CBSE Class 10, 12 date sheet 2024 anytime soon. Earlier, the board had announced that the CBSE Class 10, 12 exams 2024 will be conducted from February 15. The CBSE Class 10, 12 date sheet 2024 will be available to download on official website, cbse.gov.in.

Once released, candidates can follow these steps to download the CBSE 2024 date sheet

• Go to the official website, cbse.gov.in

• Now go to latest section.

• Click on the link that reads "Class 10 or Class 12 date sheet 2024".

• CBSE 2024 date sheet will appear on your screen.

• Save and download the PDF.
