CBSE introduces syllabus for academic session 2019-20 and Artificial Intelligence as a new skill subject

Apply NowNEW DELHI, APRIL 1: Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced the curriculum for secondary and senior secondary school for the academic session 2019-20. As per the official notification, subjects taught in the schools must be as per the syllabus given in the curriculum documents. The head of the school should circulate the initial pages of the curriculum and the syllabus to all the teachers and must ensure that the curriculum is executed as per given therein. Teachers must be acquainted with the strategies mentioned in the initial pages of the curriculum before going through the syllabus. They are also advised to refer the sample question papers published by the board for preparing students for exams. The curriculum is available on the official website of CBSE i.e. http://cbseacademic.nic.in/.

CBSE has introduced Artificial Intelligence as a new subject in the curriculum for class 8th and 9th. As per the reports, this subject has been introduced as optional sixth subject and the objective of this subject is to develop an understanding and appreciating Artificial Intelligence (Al) and its application in our lives. Besides AI, CBSE has also introduced Early Childhood Care Education and Yoga as new subjects.
It was decided that schools may start AI 'inspire module' of 12 hours at Class 8 to improve the multidisciplinary approach in teaching-learning and also to sensitize the new generation. As per the reports, if the school desires to offer this skill subject (s) from the 2020-2021 session at senior secondary level, they may apply online through the CBSE portal as per the schedule of the board.
