CBSE Reading Mission 2021-23: The webinar will be live on the CBSE official YouTube channel

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced webinars for teachers under the CBSE reading mission 2021-23 campaign on Thursday, January 27, 2022. The theme of the webinar for teachers is “storytelling as a pedagogy’.
The live session will be a webcast at the CBSE official YouTube channel, ‘CBSE academics and trainings’, which will begin at 3 pm tomorrow.

The CBSE reading mission began on September 20, 2021, with the objective of promoting reading and literacy under the framework of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. According to a statement from the board, it will give access for teachers to reading materials and also initiate activities for developing language skills. The initiative intends to provide teachers with access to children’s storybooks and other resources in English and Hindi languages for Classes 1 to 8. CBSE had also extended the reading challenge in English and Hindi to classes 6 and 7. Earlier, it was organised just for students of Classes 8 to 10.

According to the official website of StoryWeaver, the CBSE reading mission will provide training materials to teachers which will help them in conducting virtual reading sessions and activities through ‘Teacher Connect’ interactions. Here teachers will be able to interact and share best practices, work and feedback on the programme design.
