Fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru by children, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was an exemplary figure in India’s struggle for freedom. Nehru’s vision led to the establishment of some of the most prestigious educational institutions in India after Independence. His commitment towards children and their education is one of the reasons why our country commemorates his birth anniversary, November 14, as Children’s Day. The day also calls for spreading awareness on children’s rights, care and education.
