NEW DELHI, MARCH 18: While tens of thousands of law aspirants sighed a relief with the breaking news of CLAT 2019 examination date rescheduled to May 26 from the earlier scheduled date of May 12, 2019; the new postponed examination date of Common Law Admission Test again finds itself in turmoil. The CLAT 2019 rescheduled date of May 26 now is clashing with that of LSAT India 2019, leaving around 10000 applicants of the Pearson VUE administered Law School Admission Test (India) muddled to choose between the two law entrance exams.
"I don't know what am I going to do as, both the examinations are on the same date," says Ritika Dhar, a confused law aspirant to choose between the two exams.
Earlier this morning, the CLAT Consortium has met to decide the rescheduled date of CLAT 2019 in light of the Lok Sabha Elections to be held on May 12, 2019. This was originally the date on which the national-level law entrance examination was to be conducted offline by NLU Odisha.
However, after the meeting the Consortium of National Law Universities (CLAT Consortium) decided to postpone the examination date of CLAT 2019 by two weeks, thereby re-scheduling it to May 26, 2019, with the same time table. The CLAT 2019 is to be held between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
The Pearson VUE on behalf of Law Admission Council (LSAC) had already rescheduled its examination date of LSAT India 2019 to May 26, 2019, while it was originally to be conducted on May 19, 2019.
This reshuffling of dates for both the examinations, LSAT India and CLAT is going to affect around 10000 law aspirants if no further changes are done to resolve the issue.
