New Delhi, January 1: NUSRL, Ranchi has released the application form of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2020) on January 1. The application form is available at the official website of NLU Consortium; consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Last date for submitting the application form is March 31. Before filling the form, it is important that candidates ensure their eligibility.
CLAT 2020 exam will be conducted on May 10.
The exam is conducted for admission to 5-year integrated and LLM courses offered by the 21 participating NLUs. The combined seat intake for the integrated program is around 2500, while there are around 720 postgraduate seats. In addition, CLAT scores are also used by several other law colleges for admission purposes.
How to fill CLAT application form in four simple steps
Candidates can apply for CLAT 2020 by following these four steps.
Online registration - Candidates will have to register as a new user and by filling the CLAT registration form. The form will have various fields like name of the applicant, mobile number and email id etc. The candidate will also have to enter and confirm a password.
Fill the application form - After completing the registration, candidates will have to fill the CLAT application form by providing details like personal information, address, educational qualifications etc. Candidates will also have to select the course for which they are applying for.
Document uploading - The document list includes a passport size photo (500kb), signature (100kb) and domicile certificate.
Payment of application fee - The authorities have provided a payment gateway through which candidate can pay the application fee.

Changes in CLAT exam pattern
The NLU Consortium has approved some major changes to the exam pattern, including reducing the number of questions in CLAT UG, introducing cut-off marks in LLM admission test and changing other modalities of the test paper. The changes are as given below.
CLAT UG will have 150 MCQs, earlier it used to be 200 questions.
This year, CLAT UG will have comprehension based questions from Quantitative Techniques, English, Current Affairs, Deductive Reasoning and Logical Reasoning.
Cut off marks are introduced in CLAT PG; the descriptive type paper will be evaluated only if the candidate scores more than 40% marks (35% for SC/ST candidates) in the objective type paper.
