CS Exam 2020: ICSI announces extension of the Opt-Out facility

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has extended the date for Opt-Out facility. Students enrolled for CS December 2020 can submit their request by December 31, 2020.

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has released a notification regarding the Opt-Out facility given to students enrolled for December 2020 exam. The Opt-Out facility has been extended for students enrolled for the December 2020 session till December 31.

Due to Covid 19 pandemic, the CS June 2020 examinations were merged with CS December 2020 exams. Using the Opt-out facility, students can transfer their candidature to the June 2021 session.

Students can choose opt-out facility through two different modes.

Choosing Opt-out facility without any specific reason

Students who wish to avail the Opt-Out facility from December 2020 exams to June 2021 session can do so by submitting an online request on this google form link.

No specific document would be required for the same. The last date for submission of such online requests is December 31, 2020

Choosing Opt-out facility due to Covid-19

If a student or the family members they are staying with turn covid positive during the December 2020 session, the students can avail the OPT-OUT facility by submitting a COVID-19 positive certificate on the given link.

The last date for availing this one-time facility is January 15, 2021.

Students can choose the one-time opt-out which will enable them to carry forward the credit of their exam fee to CS June 2021 exam.

It should be noted that on receipt of online opt-out requests through any of the above modes, the candidature of the student for December 2020 session will stand cancelled. An opt-out request will be treated as final and no changes will be entertained further.

The institute has clarified that if any students appear in all papers of the December 2020 session, their opt-out request will be rejected.
