NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi will begin the registration process for admissions of Class 6 to 9 students in Delhi government schools today, April 8. Parents aiming to secure admission of their children in Delhi government schools can fill the registration form through the official website, edudel.nic.in.
"Students presently studying/placed under NSO in Government/Government Aided Schools shall approach their last attended school for further assistance regarding their transfer/readmission", the official notice read
To enroll in Class 6, students who have been declared as having passed or promoted from Class 5 will complete online registration. Out-of-school children will need to undergo in-person registration at the nearest school to their home.
Additionally, parents of children aged 10-12 years who haven't attended school are urged to register their child at the closest school. Upon registration, the child will undergo an assessment for Foundational Literacy & Numeracy, and their class placement will be based on the assessment outcome.

Delhi Government School Admission 2024: Age criteria
The age criteria for admission to Delhi government schools for classes 6 to 9. The Heads of Schools (HoS) hold the discretion to grant a maximum and minimum age relaxation of six months.
Class 6: Completed age of 10 but less than 12 years
Class 7: Completed age of 11 but less than 13 years
Class 8: Completed age of 12 but less than 14 years
Class 9: Completed age of 13 but less than 15 years.
