Delhi University UG, PG admissions solely on CUET from 2023, resolves DU Executive Council

The Delhi University executive council announces that the admissions for the academic year 2023-24 will be based solely on CUET scores.

Download NowNEW DELHI: The University of Delhi's executive council has resolved that the admissions from academic year 2023-24 will solely be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores in a meeting held on December 8, 2022.

The admissions for both under graduate and post graduate programmes including the candidates under the reserved and minority quota categories will be carried centrally on the basis of CUET scores under this resolution. The DU authority issued a notification regarding the resolution.

This year DU Admissions 202 were based on 100% CUET scores however, St. Stephen's gave a 85% weightage to CUET and 15% weightage to college interview for admission to its unreserved seats in UG courses. The Supreme Court ordered the college to follow the DU admission policy of admission only on CUET scores and no interviews.
The college originally requested to conduct interviews for all categories that was against DU admission policy and also against the mandate of the academic and executive council of the university.
The university will close admissions for the 2022-23 academic session tomorrow, December 31, 2022. "It is notified that the last date of admissions for all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the University of Delhi for the academic session 2022-23 shall be Saturday, December 31, 2022," Registrar Vikas Gupta said in a previous notice.
The CUET UG exam will be conducted from May 21 to 31, 2023. The UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar previously announced that the CUET 2023 application process will start in the first week of February 2023. On the other hand, CUET PG 2023 will be held from June 1 to June 10, 2023 for admission to postgraduate programmes in central universities.
