DRDO scholarship scheme 2020 for female engineering students

NEW DELHI: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched a scholarship scheme for female engineering students studying in first year B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech courses. The scholarship is open to B.Tech/M.Tech students of Aerospace/Aeronautical/Space and Rocketry/Avionics or Aircraft Engineering.

The selection of candidates for scholarship will be on the basis of JEE Main mark in case of undergraduate (UG) courses and through GATE score in case of postgraduate (PG) courses. It is compulsory to have a valid GATE and JEE Main score at the time of applying for the scholarship. There are 20 scholarships for B.E./B.Tech and 10 for M.E./M.Tech.

The selected candidates will be entitled to get an annual stipend of Rs 1. 2 lakh for UG course and Rs.1.55 lakh for PG course. Selected candidates are required to pass all the examinations of their degree course and maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 7.00 or 70% marks during the scholarship period.

The selected candidates need not sign any bond. However, they will have to do their major final year project work preferably at DRDO/government labs or in AR & DB funded projects in any institutions during their course work.

Interested students can apply for the scholarship by filling the online application form at the official website of DRDO @ rac.gov.in from July 6 to September 30. For more detailed information about the scholarship, candidates can check the DRDO portal.
