DU's Deshbandhu College asks all first-year students to register on ABC portal of UGC

NEW DELHI: Deshbandhu College of the University of Delhi (DU), has asked all its first-year students to register on the Academic Bank Credit (ABC) portal of the University Grants Commission (UGC) at the official website – abc.gov.in.

The acting principal of Deshbandhu College Kamal Kumar Gupta issued a notice regarding the registration on the ABC portal.

Earlier this year, the UGC made it mandatory for students to generate ABC ID and verify their Aadhaar from this academic year. The ABC portal was launched in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and stores the virtual database of credits online that are earned by each student individually. The initiative aims to facilitate credit transfer of students, by allowing them to change streams and higher education institutions easily. The ABC platform will help the students who will opt for a dual degree and joint degree.

How to apply at the ABC portal

Deshbandhu College has provided step-by-step instructions to register on the ABC portal.

  • Visit the ABC Portal at – abc.gov.in.

  • Under the ‘My Account’ tab select student.

  • New students can click on the signup link and sign up for DigiLocker using their mobile number.

  • Enter the required details like gender, date of birth, username, and pin, and verify.

  • Now sign in to your account using the DigiLocker ID by entering your mobile number and pin.
