Educational Scholarships to Apply for in October 2019

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 15: The Government of India provides several scholarships to the undergraduate and postgraduate students who are enrolled in a recognised institution. We have enlisted some of the top educational scholarships to apply for in the month of October 2019 below. Meritorious students can apply for these scholarships in the online mode. The last date to apply for these educational scholarships is October 31, 2019.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF

Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has come up with the educational scholarship to apply for in the month of October for providing assistance to the wards of the ex- RPF/RPSF personnel to motivate them for higher education.

• Eligibility: Wards/widows of the ex-personnel who have scored at least 60% marks in their XII/Undergraduate programme and are enrolled in a recognised institution for undergraduate or postgraduate courses can apply for this scholarship. The shortlisted students will be awarded the scholarships by the government of India.

• Scholarship Amount: The monthly scholarship amount disbursed to the male applicant will be 2000/- while 2250/- for the female applicant.

Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders

University Grants Commission is offering scholarships to the meritorious students who are currently enrolled in postgraduate programmes in recognised institutions. Students who are rank holders in higher education programmes can apply for this scholarship.

• Eligibility: The applicant must have secured first or second division in their previous graduation programme and at least 60% marks in various other disciplines. In addition to this, the applicant’s age must be less than 30.

• Scholarship Amount: Students who will be selected for this scholarship will be awarded a scholarship amount of Rs. 3,100/monthly for two years. The motive of this initiative is to encourage students to pursue higher education.

Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students

Students who belong to the scheduled caste community can apply for this scholarship to receive several advantages of higher education. Around 1,500 scholarships will be provided to the SC students to encourage them for higher and quality education.

• Eligibility: To apply for this scholarship, SC students must have passed Class 12th with a maximum annual family income of Rs.6 lakh. If such students are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or post-graduate programme, they are eligible to apply.

• Scholarship Amount: Shortlisted students will be awarded full-time tuition fee scholarship up to Rs. 3.75 lakhs yearly. Additionally, living expenses of ₹2,200 per month, books and stationery expenses of ₹3,000/yearly and computer/related expenses of ₹45,000 (one-time) until the duration of their UG/PG course will also be awarded.
