NEW DELHI: Five Indian schools have secured spots in the top 10 schools shortlisted for the 'World’s Best School Prizes 2024', a recognition shared with schools from the United Kingdom. These awards, initiated by T4 Education in collaboration with partners like Accenture and American Express, celebrate innovation and excellence in global education and boast a combined prize fund of $50,000.
"CM RISE School, Kalyanpura, Jhabua, has earned acclaim for its approach to supporting healthy lives among students. Meanwhile, Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, has been lauded for its measures in environmental conservation. CM RISE School Vinoba, Ratlam, shines for innovation in public education, and Kalvi International Public School in Madurai is commended for its community collaboration initiatives. Mumbai Public School LK Waghji International in Mumbai has been recognized for promoting healthy lifestyles and nutrition among its student body," as stated in the press release.
Winners, selected by an expert judging academy, will share the $50,000 prize fund, with each recipient receiving an award of US$10,000. Additionally, a public vote component will determine the recipient of the Community Choice Award, offering further recognition and support to outstanding educational institutions.
The announcement of the top 3 finalists for each prize category is slated for September 2024, followed by the winners' revelation in November. These awards symbolize the ongoing commitment to innovation, excellence, and positive impact in the realm of global education.
Vikas Pota, the founder of T4 Education, stated to the PTI that addressing global education challenges is critical, stressing the need for innovative solutions to enhance learning outcomes and societal impact. He praised the pioneering efforts of these Indian schools in driving positive change and inspiring educational innovation on a global scale.
Jill Huntley, managing director of global corporate citizenship at Accenture, extended congratulations to Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, for securing a spot among the top 10 shortlisted schools for environmental action. She highlighted the importance of these awards in spotlighting effective solutions to pressing global challenges, particularly in areas such as sustainability and environmental stewardship, stated PTI.
The 'World’s Best School Prizes' were established in 2022 post-COVID to recognize schools' transformative contributions beyond traditional educational boundaries.
