NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) concluded the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE 2023) today. The screening test is conducted for candidates with medical qualification awarded by institutes abroad to get provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI).

The NBE held the FMGE exams today from 7 AM to 7 PM, as per the schedule. The board earlier announced that the FMGE 2023 result will be declared by August 30. The official FMGE result date, however, will be announced soon.

Before declaration of the FMGE result, candidates will be allowed to challenge technical errors if any with supportive medical literature within 5 days after the exam date. “No claims made beyond 5 days of conduct of examination shall be entertained under any circumstances. No claims pertaining to the difficulty level of a question shall be entertained,” the NBEMS official website read.

Candidates will be able to challenge the FMGE question paper by logging in through the candidate portal using registered email ID.

As per the exam pass percentage criterion, candidates who obtain a minimum score of 150 marks out of 300 will be declared qualified. There is no provision for revolution.

Qualified candidates will then have to attend in-person verification of credentials including finger biometric and Face ID. Following this, the NBE will upload the FMGE certificate on the NBE official website. The result of the final examination of the primary medical qualification should have been declared on or before April 30, 2023. The proof of the qualifying examination certificate will have to be produced during the verification process. Failing to produce the document will lead to disqualification, as per the eligibility criteria.
