NEW DELHI: The results of the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) are concerning as every year there is a massive drop in the number of medical graduates who qualify the exam. In this regard, foreign medical graduates have been demanding the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to display the FMGE answer key to have more clarity on results.

“Releasing the answer key will lead to misuse of the questions by the coaching centres as it will give them an opportunity to understand the exam pattern. Moreover, we would like to maintain the privacy of the question bank,” Minu Bajpai, NBE vice-president and executive director, told the Education Times.

The board recently declared the FMGE December exams 2024 results. Of the total 38,535 medicos who appeared in the screening test, 30,046 candidates failed; which is 77.97%. It also informed that 693 students were marked absent and the results of 15 candidates were withheld.

The FMGE pass percentage of previous years are more or less the same as December 2023 session results. Of the 54,924 candidates who wrote FMGE in 2022, only 23% qualified.

A large number of applicants also took to social media demanding the NBE to issue the FMGE admit card on time. The delay in issuing the hall ticket has also affected and caused confusion among the candidates.
