Galgotias University, Telecom Sector Skill Council partner to bridge skill gap in telecom industry

NEW DELHI: Galgotias University and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) have partnered to establish a centre of excellence focused on enhancing skills within the telecom sector. As per the institute, the centre of excellence will introduce cutting-edge telecom technology and internationally recognised skilling programmes to the Galgotias campus.

The major goal of this partnership is to establish a leading advanced skill campus in the telecom sector, leveraging Huawei's expertise as a CSR partner. The centre of excellence will be made up of a series of modular skill labs that will provide training in key telecom and related technologies, the institute said.

As per the institute, the initiative will introduce modern programmes designed to address the changing requirements of the industry, initially focusing on fibre, the Internet of Things, device repair and assembly. The skill lab will adopt a modular approach and undertake training projects for individuals, corporate clients, and other external entities.

Moreover, it will offer extensive assistance for the placement of trained candidates, ensuring that skilled individuals secure appropriate employment opportunities. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bridging the skill gap and promoting technology and industry-led skills amongst youth, the institute further said.
