NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Science has opened admissions to MTech programme in quantum technology for the academic session 2024-25. Admissions will be offered through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 scores. Eligible candidates can apply for the IISc MTech programme through the official website, admissions.iisc.ac.in. The last date to apply is April 12, 2024.

GATE 2024 result date is March 16. GATE 2024 answer key objection facility will be available till February 25. Based on the final answer key, GATE 2024 results will be declared.
The department of instrumentation and applied physics at IISc Bangalore offers the MTech course in quantum technology. The GATE papers preferred for the programme are AE, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, EC, EE, GG, NM, IN, MA, ME, MN, MT, PH, PI, XE, ST, GE. There are a total of 10 seats in the programme. GATE 2024 exam was conducted on February 3, 4 and 10, 11.

As per the eligibility criteria, students having a BE or BTech or an equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE score) or MSc or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) or four-year Bachelor of Science or equivalent in any discipline of science or research (with a valid GATE) are eligible to apply. A strong mathematical background is also required.
In order to apply for the MTech programme, candidates belonging to the general, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 800. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be required to submit Rs 400.
