NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2025) exam starting from tomorrow. Candidates appearing for the entrance exam will have to mandatorily carry the GATE admit card to the exam centre to be allowed entry.
As per the GATE exam schedule, the institute will administer the exam on February 1, 2 and 15, 16 at various locations across the country. The computer-based exam will be held in two shifts - the forenoon session will start from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the afternoon session from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
On the first day of GATE 2025, candidates will appear for computer science and information technology (CS1 and CS2), agricultural engineering (AG), mathematics (MA), naval architecture and marine engineering (NM), metallurgical engineering (MT), textile engineering and fibre science, and instrumentation engineering (IN). Exams for a total of 5 papers will be held on February 2.
The GATE question paper with solutions from 2007 to 2024 is available on the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download the GATE previous year question paper by clicking on the ‘Download’ button given on the homepage.
The general aptitude (GA) section carrying 15 marks is common for all papers, and the remaining questions carrying 85 marks will cover the topics from the GATE syllabus and subject opted by the candidates.

“A Virtual Scientific Calculator will be available on the computer screen during the examination. Candidates have to use the same during the examination,” the institute said.
