Try NowThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Guwahati) conducted the first shift of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) exam on February 15 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, covering the EC paper. According to students, the GATE 2026 February 15 shift 1 paper was of moderate difficulty. The GA section was the easiest, while the core subjects section was moderately difficult. As per the students' feedback, the overall difficulty level of the GATE 2026 February 15 shift 1 exam paper ranged from easy to slightly moderate, with conceptual questions. Some questions were difficult and required careful answers.
The general aptitude section was easy and mostly doable. It had questions on dice problems, paper folding, Venn diagrams, permutations and combinations, analogies, and direction sense.
The core engineering sections were considered moderate. The mathematics part of the EC paper was tougher, with questions ranging from moderate to difficult.

The IIT Guwahati GATE 2026 ECE question paper consisted of 42 MCQ tests – each carrying 1–2 marks, 13 NAT tests – each carrying 1–2 marks and 10 MSQ tests – each carrying 1–2 marks.
