Govt gives go ahead to set up off campus centre of IIM in Srinagar

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 10: Union Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has given approval for setting up of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) off-campus in Srinagar. While speaking to the media persons, IIM-Jammu director B S Sahay confirmed about the government's decision and added that the authorities have already identified the building where the off-campus will be temporarily housed.

Money Allocated for the Centre

The government has allocated Rs 51.8 crore for establishing the temporary campus. According to Sahay, they have already written to the Central Public Works Department and the work on the building will be completed soon. The senior government officials have reportedly said that they are also working to soon establish the permanent campus.

Launch of the website and programmes offered

It was on July 31 that HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had launched the new logo and website of IIM Jammu. Presently, the institute will not introduce full-time MBA programmes but it would commence soon. Currently, the institute will set up an incubation centre and also offer short duration programmes.
