NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 26: Prof. Himanshu Rai has been appointed as the Director of IIM Indore by the Board of Governors of the institute. He would assume office from December 31, 2018. Prof. Rai would take over from Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, current Director of IIM Indore as his five-year directorial tenure is ending.
On the appointment of his successor, Prof. Krishnan said, “Professor Himanshu Rai has been selected by the Board after a rigorous selection process. I am confident that he will take IIM Indore forward in keeping with our vision of being a contextually-relevant business school with world-class academic standards.”
Prof. Rai is the professor of Human Resource Management at IIM Lucknow. Prior to that, he was the Dean of SDA Bocconi, Asia Center, Mumbai and professor, SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan, Italy.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he has been teaching PG and Doctoral students at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow since 2006. He has earlier taught in the HR area at XLRI Jamshedpur. He was also the Convenor of CAT 2010, which was conducted by IIM Lucknow. He has over eight years of corporate experience in Tata Steel. His role was to develop Quality Systems for his Departments and the Communication Policy for the Company.
