HITS announces scholarships for wards of Covid-19 warriors

NEW DELHI: In a first of its kind move, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai, has announced scholarship schemes for the children of Covid-19 warriors who died in the line of duty or who are engaged in the frontline. The scholarships to be awarded are, “Adopt a Covid Warrior Ward Scholarship” and “Covid Frontline Warriors Scholarship”
The “Adopt a Covid Warrior Ward Scholarship”, is for selected wards of Covid Warriors who have lost their lives in the frontline fighting the pandemic while the “Covid Frontline Warriors Scholarship”, is for the wards of wards of Doctors, Healthcare professionals, Government & service personnel who have participated and even lost their lives during the COVID Pandemic
Details of “Adopt a Covid Warrior Ward Scholarship”
This is for selected wards of Covid Warriors who have lost their lives fighting the Covid Pandemic and will cover only the prescribed period of the course. The scholarship entails

A complete waiver of the tuition fee in the discipline of their choice provided they are eligible for the course.

Coverage of all expenses including boarding and lodging.

A monthly stipend.
Details of “Covid Frontline Warriors Scholarship”
This scholarship is open to wards of Doctors, Healthcare professionals, Government & service personnel who have participated and even lost their lives during the COVID Pandemic. A 100 scholarships will be awarded under this scheme. The scholarship will be for a two year period across all courses.
Admission in Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) will be offered on the basis of the entrance exam, also known as HITSEEE. The last date to apply is July 31. The university will conduct HITSEEE 2020 from August 5 to 7 as an online computer based exam at select exam centres.
