NEW DELHI: The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has postponed the Himachal Pradesh State Eligibility Test (HP SET) exam for 2023. The HP SET 2023 exam was initially scheduled to be held on March 17, 2024. The revised schedule for the examination will be communicated by the exam authority on the official website, hppsc.hp.gov.in.
“Apropos this Commission’s notice dated January 20, 2024, whereby tentative schedule for the conduct of HP State Eligibility Test- 2023 was issued for March 17, 2024. It is for the information of all concerned that the said State Eligibility Test-2023 has been postponed. The next date of said examination will be notified in due course of time,” reads the notification.
The HP SET exam is conducted to select candidates for Assistant Professor positions in universities and colleges within the state of Himachal Pradesh. The selection process for the Assistant Professor will be determined by the criteria established by the respective university or institute. This candidate will be selected on the basis of scores in a written test, an interview, evaluation of qualifications, experience, and a teaching demonstration.

Candidates from the unreserved (UR), economically weaker section (EWS) category should have completed a minimum of 55% marks in master’s degree in humanities, social sciences, and computer science.
Candidates from Himachal Pradesh belonging to the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), other backward classes (OBC) and persons with disability (PwD) categories are eligible for the test if they have secured at least 50% marks.
Candidates holding a PhD degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations, 2009, will be exempted from this particular regulation.
