NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 19: Students from the newly formed Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will only have to pay 25% of the total fee for all level of Chartered Accountant (CA) courses, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced on Thursday (September 19).
The concession also applies for students registering from the 8 north-eastern states of India. The decision is aimed at increasing the participation of young CA aspirants from these territories.
Before the concessions, students had to pay Rs.9,800 for foundation level, Rs.18,000 for intermediate level and Rs. 22,000 as the final course fee.
The ICAI will also be setting up a representative office in Ladakh. The primary objective of the office is to spread awareness about the CA courses and use them as an empowerment tool to provide professional employment opportunities to the local youth.
The office will provide ease of accessibility for students from remote corners of the territory.
