ICSE Class 10th Exam 2022 Live Updates: English paper concludes; Analysis, semester 2 timetable

Saroj Raman, Principal, The Academy School, Pune said that the students were really excited to appear for exams offline rather than feeding answers online. While some faced challenges due to a long gap of more than two years, most found the English paper moderate. The students were all well-prepared for their first offline examination. 

The paper wasn’t too lengthy and the specimen papers that the students wrote helped them match up with the ticking time. While taking the feedback from students, there were mixed reactions to exams. One thing stood out—the happiness of being able to write exams offline, which is great because assessments should be done offline instead of online.

• The question paper is divided into 4 sections, A, B, C, and D. 
• Section A is compulsory – All questions in Section A must be answered.
• Students must attempt one question from each of the Sections B, C and D.

Students who appeared for the board exam today have termed the English paper moderate. Meanwhile, some students have observed that the topic of notice was tough. 

The CISCE Board will conduct Literature in English tomorrow, April 26, 2022. Students must follow social distancing during the exams. They should carry their masks and sanitizers to the exam hall to avoid any inconvenience. 

ICSE English paper 1 is over now. The next ICSE 10th paper 2022 is Literature in English, which will be held on April 26, 2022.

As per the reports, overall students were happy with the English paper. The paper was slight lengthy, but the questions were easily doable. 

As per the reports by TimesNowNews, the ICSE English language paper was easy and doable. The paper was not too lengthy and students found it easy to solve. 

ICSE 10th English paper 1 has been successfully concluded among all the exam centres. The exam commenced at 11 am. The exam duration was 1.5 hours. The student's reactions and exam analysis are still awaited. 

In other news, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, is expected to announce MP Board Class 10, 12 result 2022 by April 28 or 29, as per a newspaper cutting shared by School Education Department, MP in a tweet.

The semester 2 English question paper 2022 will be of 40 marks. The marks distribution is as follows:

1. Composition - 20 Marks 

2. Letter writing - 10 Marks 

3. Notice - 10 Marks 

The Council For The Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has announced the ICSE result 2022 on February 7, 2022, at 10 am. The result is announced on the CISCE's official website, via SMS and on the Careers portal.

ICSE Board Class 10 English paper 1 has commenced at 11 am. The question paper was distributed at 10:50 am. The exam duration 1:30 hours.

(i) You are the President of the school Science Club. You and your team are planning to organize a creative mask-making event using renewable materials. Write a notice to be put up on the school notice board, giving details of the event.

(ii) Write an e-mail to the General Manager of a local hospital requesting him/her to send a senior doctor to talk to the participants at the event about the quality of mask which would give them the best protection.

Below are the sample questions for letter writing released by CISCE in the ICSE 10th English specimen question paper 2022 semester 2.  

(i) You have been given a small sum of money to buy a gift with for a friend. What gift would you choose (specify) and why would you choose this? Write a letter to your friend telling him/her about the gift and how it will benefit him/her.

(ii) You have planned to organize a health camp at school. Write a letter to the Manager of a supermarket requesting sponsorship for the event. Name the event and explain how it will benefit both the community as well as the supermarket.

• Answer only to the number of questions asked in the question paper.
• Sign on the space provided on the top sheet of the answer booklet. 
• Do not scribble anything else on the top sheet.
• Write the UID, index number and subject name on the top sheet in the space provided. 
• Write the same on the front page of each continuation booklet used and also on the loose maps, graph papers etc.

(i) Imagine a situation where a child runs away from home but later returns. Why did he

or she run away? What made him/her come back? Write an original short story

entitled: ‘Finding My Way Home’.

(ii) Parents can never be friends with their children. Express your views either for or

against this statement.

(iii) Describe an area in your city or hometown which is famous for its street food. Give

details of the familiar sights and sounds you would experience on this street.

(iv) It is very important for young people to spend time quietly or alone for a short while

every day. If you were given an hour to spend on your own, how will you spend it?

The ICSE 10th sample question papers are released on the official website of CISE, cisce.org. Students can download the same by following the steps below. 

• Go to cisce.org. 
• Click on the tab 'publications'. 
• Now select '2022 semester 2' followed by subject names. 
• Click on each subject, the pdf file of sample papers will be displayed on the screens. 

English Paper I Language skills comprise the composition, letter, unseen passage, and grammar questions.

CISCE has released the reduced syllabus for the current academic year 2021-22 on its official website cisce.org. Students can download the syllabus from the official website. 

• Follow social distancing norms during the movement in the exam centre. 

• Use a face mask or face cover. 

• Bring your own sanitizer to the exam hall. 

The question paper for the English exam will start distributed at 10:50 am. The exam will commence at 11: 00 am and will conclude at 12:30 pm.
