IIM Ahmedabad’s PGP-FABM remains on top in Eduniversal’s world rankings
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 28: The Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agri-business Management (PGP-FABM) at IIM Ahmedabad has retained No.1 spot in the world ranking provided by Eduniversal, France for the year 2019. This is the fourth continuous year that this programme is topping the rankings.
The success of the programme is in its focus on aspects like industry interaction, rural immersion modules and project-works as a significant part of the curriculum. The rural immersion modules allow the students to spend upto two-weeks in rural areas to learn about the practical problems faced by the people in the agricultural sector.
The two-year full-time residential programme expands beyond agriculture to other allied areas such as food processing, commodities and rural development sector, and rural infrastructure. The placement of students has been increasingly in newer areas of the industry such as commodity trading, farm insurance, agri-business infrastructure and food retailing.
"IIMA has designed the programme keeping in mind the peculiar challenges faced by this sector. The curriculum creates a perfect blend of general management courses taught in the first year and courses that focus on food and agribusiness marketplace in the second year,” said Prof. Satish Deodhar, Chairperson, PGP-FABM.
The institute also provides a student exchange programme that is offered in collaboration with four foreign universities, ESSEC B School, France, University of British Columbia, Canada, Antai College, China and Norwegian School of Economics, Norway to enhance the international exposure of the students.
