IIM Bodh Gaya launches 5-year integrated programme in management

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya launched a five-year integrated programme in management, or IPM in the academic year 2021 on Wednesday.

The first three years of the integrated course will be dedicated to undergraduate studies where basic concepts of mathematics, economics, social sciences, psychology will be taught.

The students will also have courses on physical training and mental health. Students will have an option to select from a range of elective courses in the final semester to determine their domain of expertise. In the latter two years, core management studies will commence. The course will be carried out in a semester format.

The programme will have an intake capacity of 60 students where 50 seats are gender-neutral and 10 seats are reserved for female candidates under the supernumerary quota.

The course curriculum also includes a student exchange program for the students to gain an international perspective. The institute has established collaborations with several institutions in Germany, Taiwan, France, Venezuela, Russia, Mexico, Italy, S. Korea, Morocco and Israel.

JIPMAT and selection process

The candidates will be assessed through a test called the Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test, or JIPMAT conducted by the National Testing Agency. IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu together will conduct the JIPMAT in across 78 cities in the country.

The students will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in Class 10, 12 and entrance test scores. The weightage to the JIPMAT scores, Class 10 and 12 percentages will be 70%, 15%, and 15%, respectively.

Candidates who have minimum marks of 60 % in Class 10 and 12, with a 5% relaxation for the SC, ST, Transgenders and PWD students can apply for JIPMAT. Unlike other IIMs, IIM Bodh Gaya has decided not to include any weightage in the personal interview.
