IIM Ranchi, FPSB India launch executive programme in advanced financial planning and digital finance

IIM Ranchi and FPSB India have launched a hybrid executive programme in advanced financial planning and digital finance, offering professionals industry-focused training and a pathway to CFP certification.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi has joined hands with Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) India to introduce an executive programme in advanced financial planning and digital finance, aimed at helping working professionals build deeper expertise in wealth management and financial advisory. The hybrid programme will also offer participants a faster pathway to the certified financial planner certification.

The programme is for professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge of personal finance, investment management, and wealth advisory. It combines the CFP curriculum with IIM Ranchi’s academic strengths in areas such as financial analytics, artificial intelligence, sustainable finance, and digital transformation.

The hybrid learning format allows participants to continue working while pursuing advanced professional education. Through the partnership, both institutions aim to prepare professionals for leadership roles in the rapidly evolving wealth management and financial advisory sectors.

IIM Ranchi: EMBA curriculum’s future finance focus

The programme will cover several emerging areas shaping the finance industry today. These include AI-driven wealth planning, behavioural finance, alternative investments, sustainable finance and ESG frameworks, digital finance strategies, portfolio engineering, and global regulatory practices.

The course structure aims to blend conceptual learning with practical insights so that participants can better navigate the changing financial landscape and the increasing role of technology in financial services.

Leaders emphasise industry relevance

Chandrakant Sureka, interim CEO of FPSB India, said the collaboration is a step forward in strengthening India’s financial planning ecosystem. According to him, integrating global CFP® standards with digital finance knowledge will help professionals develop “future-ready competencies that combine ethics, technology, and client-centric advisory excellence.”

Deepak Kumar Srivastava, director of IIM Ranchi, said the institute remains focused on preparing leaders who can handle complex challenges with both competence and integrity. Speaking about the collaboration with FPSB India, he noted that it reflects the institute’s commitment to blending strong academic foundations with professional standards. He added that by integrating advanced areas such as digital finance, analytics, and artificial intelligence with the globally recognised certified financial planner (CFP®) pathway, the programme aims to equip professionals to lead “the next phase of innovation and responsibility in wealth management and financial advisory.”

The programme follows the structure of the globally recognised CFP® certification and is designed to combine strong academic learning with practical financial planning skills. Developed jointly by IIM Ranchi and FPSB India, it aims to connect high-quality management education with global professional standards. Through this curriculum, participants will gain the knowledge, ethical understanding, and hands-on skills needed to confidently move forward on the CFP® certification path.
